Amazing First Week At School!

A picture of us playing in our Buzz groups in the hall (Read the blog)
Wow, the school changed a lot over the holidays! The bell of the first day of the first week has started. We did the attendance and then we sat on the mat. I was excited for the first day of school. Koka Ngaire and Koka Terri started talking to us and then told us every Monday we have a big hui.

After a while we got words and we had to get into groups that match our words. My word was Shrek! I couldn't find anyone so I was one of the left outs. At the end Koka Ngaire helped me find my group and that group we were in was a Buzz group. Koka Ngaire told us that a Buzz group is the group we do games, events and other stuff.

We played a game called "Tension" and it was a game where we had to write 10 things matching the category the card had on it. For example, the teacher would read of the card "10 characters out of Shrek" then we would've wrote 10 characters.

A few hours later it was silent reading (after lunch we silent read) and I quietly read a book. Then we were introduced to our "About me sheets" and I took mine home and spent A LOT of time on it.

It's the next day and we went to school. When we arrived we did the attendance and then we went for swimming. After swimming for a while and getting really wet we went back into the class and it was the Year 5's turn to swim.

We did something called quick writes and the topic was Chocolate vs Cheese. I chose cheese and started writing. After a long 12 minutes we started editing and I got 42 words.

Then we went to brain break and after we went to the hall for our Buzz groups with a whiteboard (Which we were going to use but we didn't). We got balloons to the other side with it between our legs. We did a couple of other challenges and then we had morning tea.

Forward a day and it was the day before Waitangi day. We then went swimming and then did quickwrites. That's basically everything that was interesting for me in the first week. The next day was no school and the next day I was spending time with my family so I wasn't at school. The 1st week was a AMAZING week but now it's already week 3 when I'm writing this blog. Time goes fast.  The end.
